Cheese Chapati: A delicious and easy recipe

Introduction

Cheese chapati is a delicious and flavorful Indian dish. It consists of a thin chapati bread stuffed with cheese. It can be served as a snack or a main course.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 cup grated cheese (any type to your liking)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add the vegetable oil and knead the ingredients together until a soft dough forms.
  3. Add the warm water gradually while kneading continuously until you get a soft dough that doesn't stick to your hands.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for an hour until it doubles in size.
  5. After the dough has risen, divide it into small balls.
  6. Roll out each ball into a thin round disc. 
  7. Place a small amount of grated cheese in the center of each disc.
  8. Fold the disc in half then fold it again to form a quarter circle.
  9. Repeat this process with all the dough balls.
  10. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  11. Place the bread in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through and golden brown.
  12. Serve the cheese chapati hot with tomato sauce or any sauce of your choice.

Tips

  • To get a thin chapati bread, you can add a little flour to the dough while rolling it out.
  • If the bread is not cooked through on the inside, you can brush it with butter or oil before frying it.
  • You can add any type of cheese you like to the filling.
